Athletic and Well Minded Horses

Work ethic, fortitude, and strength are the criteria all mares must meet to become a part of our (remove: horse breeding farm) outfit. Our band of draft cross mares imparts upon their foals admirable confirmation, endurance, and a gentle mentality. Staged in the mountains six months out of the year, outfitting affords our mares the opportunity to participate in a routine of structure and discipline, immersed in all elements of nature developing a unique mindset to be passed on to future generations.

Bred for great versatility inclusive of ranch work, roping and outfitting, our foals bear an uncommon fusion of raw athletic talent and robust grit. Fueled by the intellect of their sire and vitality of their dam, Flying R foals are cultivated to excel in any direction under strong leadership.

Turned out amidst the banks of alpine waterways in tall grass meadows of western Wyoming, pasture breeding is the preferred method among our band of mares. We offer our stud the uninterrupted opportunity to cover each mare over a three-month period. Upon request, hand breeding for outside mares is available and welcomed.

Due to the nature of our outfitting operation, we are fortunate enough to have a small selection of additional draft crosses, quarter horses, and mules available for purchase year-round outside of our breeding program.

Working together in the wilds of Wyoming and the high desert of Arizona, operating both in the mountains and the valley, we've always had an essential need for a horse that could be competitive in the arena, successful on the ranch, and dominate in the wilderness. It was from this desire that Flying R Livestock was established and our horse breeding program was born. It is our hope that the foals of Feather Trigger will accompany their future owners in the short go, drag calves to the fire, mend miles of fence, and spend countless days in God’s country.
